Daily diary of phone calls & faxes to Gillard & Carr . . . ongoing

Wednesday 2 May 2012
I phoned Julia Gillard's office around 2pm and asked to speak to someone senior, re the fact new, definitive evidence has emerged of her innocence, and that because of her desperately poor health, this information needs to be formally conveyed to the Indonesian authorities ASAP.  They refused to put me through to anyone, refused to take a message (so someone could call me back), and when I tried to tell the person I was speaking to about the news ad in Darren Cheeseman MP's local newspaper this week, they hung up on me mid-sentence.  I will call again tomorrow, and continue to diarise this process for the historical record.
I then called Bob Carr's office, and explained the same thing.  I was told no-one was available to speak to me, they refused to take a message so someone could call me back, and no further information was forthcoming.  I will call again tomorrow, and continue to diarise this process for the historical record.
Here is the FAX sent to both Julia Gillard and Bob Carr to-day.
Tuesday 1 May 2012
I phoned Julia Gillard's office around 2pm, asking when there would be an urgent response to the faxes I sent her yesterday, considering the extremely dangerous state of Schapelle's health.  I was told to phone the correspondence section on 02 6271 5111.  I got through to that number, but in the middle of politely trying to explain the problem, the woman I was speaking to said she didn't have "Time" to talk to to me, and hung up - so I called back again, and spoke to a different staff member this time.  I explained what had happened the first time I called, and also said that as a tax payer, I expect a reasonable and respectful level of service, and if I treated the public in that manner at work, I'd be disciplined (if not sacked).  He took my point, and allowed me 5 minutes to explain.  He then said it would take up to "6 weeks" for me to get an acknowledgement - and I then said that wasn't good enough, considering the urgency of the situation.  I assume no politician's daughter would be left to rot in a hell hole, in these circumstances?  I told him I'd call Gillard back again tomorrow.
I then called Bob Carr's office, and got definite confirmation my correspondence of yesterday was received.  I was told they were "Unable" to tell me when I'd get a response - so I said they'd better give that a bit more thought, because I'd be calling again tomorrow.
